Stable power supply

Power substation … This is the 5MVA power substation recently installed at Sta Rosa Sur in Mambulao, CamNorte by the Camarines Norte Electric Cooperative (Canoreco). Now fully commissioned, the substation has reduced the occurrence of brownouts in the municipality, so far. Before, Mambulao shared power supply with Paracale through a 5MVA substation in Paracale, which was not enough for the needs of power consumers in both towns. The power unit gets its power supply from the Bicol grid owned by a private group. The power co-op is trying to ferret out illegal connections of several small-scale gold miners around Mambulao, which could cause what the co-op says as system’s overload. The municipal government funded the facility from a bank loan –  MWBuzz and pic by AP HERNANDEZ
