Tomorrow's another day

On a bright day like this ... With a section of the Mambulao poblacion showing in the background, these fishing boats shimmer under the bright afternoon sun as they prepare to sail for the nth time tonight so that the owners who live along the beach of Parang could have something for the family tables tomorrow. On a bright day, one would see a long pile of sibirans parked by the waterline, hinting that fishing remains to be a major source of livelihood for Mambulao’s marginal fishermen. The problem about dwindling catch from Mambulao Bay has become a worn out issue that fishers no longer talk about it, feeling hopeless that their complaints against illegal operators in the municipality’s fishing zone would never be acted upon by concerned authorities. – MWBuzz pic and text by A P HERNANDEZ
