J PANGANIBAN: The elementary schools
in baranggays Calogcog and Bagumbayan will soon receive each a two-classroom
building to accommodate the growing number of schoolchildren in the area.
The classrooms have been donated by dairy product company New Zealand
Creamery of Metro Manila owned by Kim-sin Ongkauko.
The cost of the two projects has not been immediately known.
Sources told MWBuzz that the two classroom buildings are part of the
school projects of the Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc
(FCCCII) through Dr Roberto C Licup Sr, who is the chamber’s regional executive
director for Region 4.
The Bagumbayan and Calogcog classrooms, which are now nearing
completion, are expected to be turned over to the local schools within this
month.
The school project has been facilitated by gold miner Johson Gold
Mining Corp, which has gold operations in baranggay Bagumbayan, just outside of
the town proper.
The Calogcog Elementary School is headed by school Principal Lilia S
Pinoy
