MANILA: Known as the home of the country’s top destinations for dive sites.

A group of professional scuba divers recently identified 16 dive sites in the province, according to the Philippine News Agency (PNA).

Ten of these dive sites can be found in the Caraga Pas in Albay Gulf, while six of them are in Legazpi City.

Albay provincial consultant for marine eco-tourism Romeo Dawal said the Pacific Blue scuba divers’ organization identified the dive sites to have no strong currents or currents.

The dive sites are being promoted as tourism attractions under the province’s tourism development program.

Under this, local communities in the diving site areas will be offered divers’ training courses for open water.

Albay is also home to other natural attractions like the waterfalls in Malinao and the caves in Batan Island, Camalig and Misibis.
