Bicol’s most wanted falls

LEGAZPI CITY: Police operatives arrested one of Bicol’s most wanted persons who is also a ranking leader of the New People’s Army (NPA)in in a village in Bauan town in Batangas, the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Bicol reported.
Arrested was Ramon Ariente, 53, alias Mon, Susing, Fausto and Butch, a native of Del Gallego, Camarines Sur, according to Police Supt Renato Bataller, PNP Bicol spokesperson.
Bataller said police operatives from Bicol and Batangas City on a strength of a warrant of arrest, raided the suspect’s hideout in Barangay Bacayon, Bauan, Batangas where he was later cornered.
The suspect carries a P2.3 million bounty on his head for a string of criminal cases like murder, robbery in band, arson, and attempted homicide.
Police intelligence report said the suspect is the current political officer and a member of the executive committee of the NPA Romulo Jallores Command that operates in CamNorte.
Ariente before his arrest has replaced Nancy Ortega the communist movement political officer who was earlier arrested in CamNorte.
The suspect was brought to Manila and was turned over to PNP custodial center in Camp Crame in Quezon City. – Bicol Mail
