Let’s help our Kababayan Militon Romero

A KABABAYAN, MELITON Enriquez Romero, 57, of North Poblacion, Jose Panganiban, CamNorte is in critical condition at the Rizal Medical Center (Pasig).

He has been diagnosed with stage 4 nasopharyngeal cancer, an affliction of the throat.

He is married to the former Maylene Frias and they have a 10-year-old daughter.

Meliton, who graduated from JPHS in 1975, is the brother of the late Andy (Andrew) Romero, of Batch ’65.

Webster Dictionary definition relating to, or affecting the nose and pharynx or the nasopharynx (the upper part of the pharynx continuous with the nasal passages ).*** Pharynx, has three parts: Nasopharynx, oropharynx and laryngopharynx.

The upper part of the pharynx (throat) lets only air pass through lower parts permit air, foods, and fluids to pass. (The Human Body, An Illustrated Guide to Its Structure, Function, and Disorders. -  Editor-in-Chief Charles Clayman, MD ).

During my exchange of messages with a core member of MINA, or Mambolenos in North America (US and Canada), on Facebook last Sept 5 regarding the JP-LGU and community-sponsored mangrove (bakawan) re-planting project fund solicitation, I was asked if Mambulaoans Worldwide Buzz (MWBuzz) might be able to help in disseminating information about Militon’s health problem to our worldwide Mambulaoan readers.

Right away, I willingly agreed.

To defray mounting hospital and medical bills, his sister Emelita E Romero is appealing to every kind-hearted “kababayan” and their friends for financial support.

"Ako lang po ang kapatid niyang naririto sa Manila. Pumupunta po ako sa ospital para maghatid ng kanyang pagkain, gamot at iba pang gamit. Kahit kaunti lang pong halaga makaking tulong po iyon kay Kuya,” Ms Romero said during our chat.
