Knights of Columbus gig

Thank you Mambulaoan Arnel P Hernandez (right) handing over a plaque of appreciation to Diana Herraren for her continued support to the activities of the Knights of Columbus, Yokosuka Council 12488, based in Yokosuka, Japan. Herraren was one of the volunteer judges in the recent Pumpkin Carving Contest participated in by 65 children from different faith groups held at the Chapel of Hope. The contest was one of the most important events that the council undertook this year.  Hernandez is the current Grand Knight of the KC Council- Yokosuka, which is the first K of C charter member in Japan. The Filipino members of the K of C-Yokosuka are active in charity works benefiting the less-privileged members of the Mambulao community. A member of the JPHS Batch ’73 and a retired US Navy serviceman, he is currently engaged as civilian employee with the USN ship repair facility (SRF) as engineering technician.  – Photo courtesy of ARNEL P HERNANDEZ, Yokosuka, Japan.
