11-year-old is 'Reina Elena' in Larap

ELEVEN-year-old Elaine H Francisco graced this year’s Santa Cruz de Mayo in Larap, Mambulao, CamNorte as “Reina Elena”.

A granddaughter of the Francisco family of Larap headed by 80-year-old Victor Francisco and his 79-year-old wife Josefina, Elaine was an impromptu choice by the Catholic Parish to regal the religious procession.

Elaine was in Larap last May for a brief holiday at her grandparents’ home when she was approached by a member of the parish community to be this year’s “Reina Elena”.

Now in Grade 5, five-foot-three tall Elaine is the only daughter of Theudy Francisco, who is based in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Lourdes Hernandez-Francisco of Oman.

Lourdes is the youngest sibling of Alfredo P Hernandez, who is the editor-in-chief of MWBuzz.

Elaine has also been the parish’s unanimous choice to compete in the “Miss Larap” beauty pageant for the barangay fiesta next month.

The beauty, who attends a Montessori grade school in Mangahan, Pasig City, is a “tablet (smarthphone) enthusiast”.
