Subsistence catch ... Danggit, a favorite fish species, is drying on a makeshift tray at the public market in Lara last May. The fish was left over of what had been sold earlier by a fisherman’s wife who occupies a small stall at the Larap public market. A kilo of dried danggit could fetch from as much as P120. Nothing much is going on at the market for most of the day as there’s not much cash to go around the community. Larap is home to many subsistence fishermen families and farmers as well as some families who benefit from the monthly remittances of family members working overseas. - MWBuzzpic by ALFREDO P HERNANDEZ

  1. masyado ng maliliit ang danggit na nahuhuli sa may Larap.. ang dahilan overfished at depleted na ang fish stock sa areang ito...but small fishermen can't just venture farther out into the waters kasi masyado ng costly as far as fuel is concerned, kaya dito na lang sila sa malapit nangingisda...
