LEGAZPI City: The Department of Tourism in Bicol Region has endorsed “Visit Daet 2012”, Daet, Camarines Norte’s year-long “Balikbayan homecoming and tourism festivities”.
DOT Bicol Director Maria “Nini” Ravanilla said the “Visit Daet” festivities is now on its third month.
Ravanilla said Bicol has attracted first and second generations of Fil-Americans with Bicolano ancestry due to the exposure of Bicol culture and destinations in the yearly “Bicol Tourism, Trade and Investment Mission”.
Showcased are Bicol products, food and travel destinations participated by at least 32 Bicolano associations in America.
Daet Mayor Tito Sarion said that in the past two months, a two-batch Fil-American Surgical Mission from Bay Area, San Francisco, California conducted surgical operations to local patients.
“Visit Daet” highlights include the “Taste Bicol, Taste Daet” food festival this month, “Bantayog Festival” on April 2 to 15, “Bagasbas Beach International Eco-Arts Festival” on May 21 to 27, and “Pinyahan Festival” on June 16-23.
