Sign of progress … One day, when this baranggay road is done for good and has finally linked the farm to the poblacion, it surely would attract a lot of things that could spur development in the area, thus help boost the economic status of the rural folks. Indeed, a good sign that Mambulaoans could expect something for the greater good of the many. – Facebookpicgrab

Sign of distress … It has been a long time since those big fishing boats called “basnigs” had avoided making daily call at the beach in Baranggay Parang to unload their bountiful catch. They now prefer to unload at Mercedes fish port. The main reason is that the basing operators feared the fish could get sick itself after getting contaminated by disease-causing microbes thriving among the rubbish strewn all over the seashore. Presumably, the rubbish that has piled up to stir up a nightmare for those who walked its muddy sand for the first time, unaware of the “land mines” along the path, is now more than two years old. Funny, the administration of Ricarte Padilla, mayor of Jose Panganiban, came in two years ago. He and the rubbish saw each other for the first time – once, during the last campaign  - and both quickly decided to forget one another after that – but the saga of Parang beach pollution gets intriguingly interesting as it goes on. The picture of the beach was taken last January. – Text by ALFREDO P HERNANDEZ/MWBuzzpic by ARNEL P HERNANDEZ

  1. bwisit na raw si Mayor dong sa akin dahil sa basura sa parang beach! tipong gusto na niyang ipabuldozer ang beach para mawala na ang basura, kasama na ang mga eskwater along the shoreline... heheh... if he would do that... that will be the day!

  2. pero simple lang ang diskarte... without costing so much money.... i organize ang baranggay sa gilid ng dagat-beach, ask the local elem school to help in the clean up that could be done on weekends konting pondo para sa miryenda ng mga sasali, seguro after a day there would be a big difference...

  3. PERO, SA DAMI DAMI NG MGA PINAPLANO NG JPNHS alumni homecoming na all about PAYING BACK TO THE COMMUNITY - HATAG SEMENTO, HATAG KAWANGGAWA, HATAG NG KUNG ANO ANO PA, wala man lang magsuggest na mag spend ng isang araw sa beach ang mga alumni members to do some clean up... well, they won't becoming to dirty themselves with the rubbish all over the place....

  4. i am looking for a corporate sponsor who could fund the clean-up of my boyhood beach -- yon bang kahit pang miryenda man lamang ng mga maglilinis na volunteers ... although it's also everyone's concern as it is everyone's beach - those who grew up in parang some 50-60 years ago...

  5. BUT MY BIGGEST ANTICIPATION IS HOW MAYOR DONG WOULD ATTACK THE BEACHY PROBLEM -- TOTOHANIN KAYA NIYA ANG PAGBULDOZER NG BASURA SA DALAMPASIGAN NG PARANG.... ABANGAN ANG SUSUNOD NA PRESS RELEASE FROMTHE MUNICIPAL GOVERNMENT OF MAMBULAO RE: PARANGBEACH CLEAN-UP
