DAET, Camarines Norte: For allegedly firing a gun and berating the police chief and his men while drunk, the town mayor of Capalonga and provincial board member of Camarines Norte are in hot water as they face criminal complaints filed recently at the Camarines Norte Provincial Prosecutor’s Office.
In a complaint filed dated March 6, Capalonga Acting Police Chief Rodel B Pili accuses its town mayor, Senandro “Pretty Boy” Jalgalado, provincial board member Felix J. Oliva Jr for illegally firing a caliber .38 revolver five times and “feloniously uttering defamatory and unsavory words” at them.
Before Asst Provincial Prosecutor Cornelio M Roll, Pili narrated in his complaint that the incident happened early morning of March 4 at the Capalonga municipal police station (MPS) when Jalgalado and Oliva, both drunk, committed acts in violation of the Revised Penal Code of the Philippines.
Standing as witnesses against Jalgado are six police personnel and a civilian who executed sworn statements attached to the two criminal complaints filed by Pili.
In the sworn statement signed by SPO1 Rex Florante Labor, PO1 Jeffrey Canlas Lubis, PO1 Erle Ernesto Bogsao Asaid and PO1 Gerald Domingo Lazaro, they narrated that the incident happened after the coronation program of Capalonga Institute held at the town plaza, which Cong. Jojo Unica attended.
The witnesses said that after the occasion at past 12AM, Jalagado sent one Jay-Ar Banan to ask Pili to go with him but the police chief was not there at the MPS.
They said that several minutes later the mayor arrived at the MPS and asked the police personnel present where Pili was and ordered them to fetch him in his rented house near the place, and then the latter left.
While a policeman was fetching Pili, Jalgalado came back accompanied by Oliva and when the former found out that Pili was still not at the MPS the mayor fumed.
Witnesses Lubis and Labor alleged they saw Jalgalado take out from his right pocket a chromed caliber .38 revolver and fired five times upward just outside the MPS building.
Accusing Jalgalado of commiting “grave oral defamation”, Pili accused the respondent-mayor for uttering “P----g ina nyo. Wala Kayong kwentang pulis. May pinagmamalaki ka yata, umuwi ka na sa CamSur, di ka naman taga-rito.” – Bicol Mail
