JP-LGU acquires new bus

THE LOCAL Government of Jose Panganiban has acquired a new bus to service the transport needs of schools in certain baranggays.

The LGU-JP public affairs said that the bus would be available upon request for burial services.

The bus would be used to transport students who are going on fieldtrips, according to the LGU public affairs unit.

The worth of the new vehicle has not been disclosed.

The bus would greatly benefit students from various baranggays who are taking up technical courses at the Roy Padilla Sr Memorial Technical Institute in Larap, the LGU public affairs said.

The students would be shuttled to the institute in the morning and picked up after their classes at night.

Mayor Ricarte Padilla earlier noted that most of those taking up courses at the institutes could not easily afford their bus fares to school.

“The new bus would be able to help them go to the institute in Larap without worrying much about their ‘pamasahe’,” Padilla told MWBuzz.

Until the bus was acquired, the LGU was using the municipal dump truck to shuttle the institute’s students every day.

Padilla said that students’ difficulty in raising money for their bus fares was one reason why a number of them dropped out from the course last year.
