Free surgery reaches out to 3,000 residents


NAGA CITY: Around 3,000 residents province-wide have already undergone free surgery for various operable ailments from minor warts and mole to cleft lip/palate and circumcision under the ongoing MigzGinhawangOperasyon.

Launched last March 19, the MigzGinhawangOperasyon is a novel approach in the delivery of fast service to the constituents which was initiated by Gov LRay Villafuerte and son, Migz who is a sportsman and an entrepreneur as well.

So far, the program has been effective in reaching out to thousands of CamSur residents particularly in remote and far-flung areas of the province who are in need of surgical operations.

Under MigzGinhawangOperasyon, everything is free including the medical check up, laboratory tests and the post operative medicines.

The surgical operations are mostly conducted in the provincially-administered hospitals like Libmanan District Hospital, Ocampo Municipal Hospital and Caramoan Municipal Hospital.  

These hospitals have been upgraded by Gov Villafuerte and have increased their manpower complement including doctors and nurses to better serve the medical needs of CamSur residents.

Almost 2,000 kids coming from various towns of the province took advantage of the program to have their circumcision which young boys usually undergo during the summer break.   

On the other hand, more than 1,000 constituents underwent operation for externals cysts, warts and moles with cancer potentials, while 38 province mates availed of the free cleft lip/palate surgery.

CamSur residents in need of surgery can readily access its services through the provincially managed hospitals particularly Libmanan District Hospital and Ocampo Municipal Hospital.  – Bicol Mail
