THE newly-elected local government of Mambulao, CamNorte, has launched
a face-to-face dialogue program called “Kapihan sa Baranggay”.
Debuting on July 19 at Baranggay Osmena, the initiative aims to deal
with community issues head-on by having a face-to-face dialogue with the
members of the community.
Re-elected mayor Ricarte Padilla said the scheme would be a regular LGU
activity to get first-hand knowledge on how the baranggay people feel about the
municipal government and to find out their concerns.
The first dialogue was attended by the eight newly-elected members of
the Sangguniang Bayan.
The local people fielded questions that concerned livelihood, peace and
order, health and sanitation, education and access to the Office of the Mayor,
among others.
The program hopes to cover the 27 baranggays during the first six
months of the new local government’s term.
