Osmena high school to get seven classrooms

THE ­­­­Osmena High School in Baranggay Osmena outside the poblacion of Jose Panganiban, CamNorte will get at least seven new classrooms this year to meet the growing number of students from the area.

This school year, the school is expected to cater to some 300 students from the baranggay and its neighbor Baranggay Bagong-bayan, which are both located north of the town proper.

Businessman-rural banker Roberto Torres will donate three classrooms; Mayor Ricarte Padilla, one; American retiree-resident James gibbs, one, while the Department of Education two.

Construction of the classroom donated by the municipal government has begun.

This school year, the school’s 1st year is expected to have two sections of 45 students each, while the 2nd year has two sections of 35 students.

Third year is expected to have one section of 72 students while 4th year is expected to graduate 48 from the 2012-13 batch.

The school is still looking for a new 3rd year teacher to split into two sections the expected number of students to enroll this year in 3rd year.

The property hosting the baranggay high school and the first school building were donated by Torres to honor his mother.
