Ultra-sound facility arriving soon in JP

THE municipal government of Jose Panganiban will have its own ultra sound services, the only one in the entire province of Camarines Norte.

The P650,000 facility will benefit pregnant women from the municipality, Mayor Ricarte Padilla told MWBuzz recently.

“We will install an ultra sound facility very soon, the only one to be operated by a municipal government in the entire province of Camarines Norte,” Padilla said.

He said that his administration has raised the vital facility “through its own efforts”.

“Magkakaroon po tayo nito mula sa sarili nating pagsisikap.”

Padilla said the ultra sound equipment would be delivered in 60 to 90 days and that an operator would be trained at the National Kidney Center in Quezon City.

The facility will service pregnant women from the municipality and that the procedure would be registered with Philhealth so it would come free, he said.

“Ngayon, eto po ang maganda: our RHUs (rural health units) are already accredited with Philhealth.

“So my program now is to register all pregnant women from the municipality with Philhealth.

“Pag sila’y nanganak, wala na silang gagastusin.

“Under the scheme, the local government could earn from this,” Padilla said.

He said that upon delivery of the baby, Philhealth will pay the cost which is P6,000.
Of the amount, P2,000 will go to the doctor as professional fee and the balance of P4,000 will go to the coffers of the municipality.

“This would be an additional income for the municipality,” Padilla said.

He said an air-conditioned room would be provided to house the ultra-sound facility.

Ricarte will soon announce the start of registration for pregnant women from the municipality to avail of the municipal government’s program under the Philhealth scheme.
