THE senior citizens of Larap have appealed to Mayor Ricarte Padilla to make good his promise to finish the construction of their multi-purpose center.

The unfinished center is located at the heart of the baranggay.

Padilla earlier told MWBuzz that the project has been allotted at least P250,000 by the office of Vice-President Jejomar Binay, who is looking after the program for the country’s senior citizens.

According to Josefina Francisco, president of the local senior citizens association, Padilla has promised them to complete the center’s construction by last month (October).

Francisco had first brought up the unfinished center’s issue with Padilla last May.

The structure, which measures about 5m x 10m, is just a shell of hollow block walls, with the roof and floor still to be built.

Francisco said that the members of more than 200 have no place to gather together, especially on weekends.

She told MWBuzz that they were hoping the project would be completed soon as they have many activities planned during the Christmas season.
