Most traveled tarp
Travel-happy tarp … The banner (above) being displayed by Arnel P Hernandez (left) of Yokosuka, Japan, belongs to the Jose Panganiban High School alumni Batch ’73. This is the 18th city overseas – Phuket, Thailand – that it has been to, with the most recent destination being the 8th station of the climb to Mt Fuji’s summit in Japan. With Hernandez (left) at the Mt Fuji climb (top photo) are sister Susan Hernandez-Ratcliffe (second from left) and husband Steve (right), of Mckay, a resort city in Queensland, Australia. Hernandez, a civilian personnel at the US Navy facility in Yokosuka, has promised that wherever he goes – whether on holiday or job-related overseas travels—the Batch ’73 tarp would come with him. The fact is, this banner should be considered the most-traveled tarp that ever existed. – Photos courtesy of AP HERNANDEZ, Yokosuka, Japan.
