“FUN??? There is more in Mambulao … Yan Man!!! Mambulao”.
Still clueless?
Well, this is the slogan that will push the tourism program of Mambulao, a brainchild of Mayor Ricarte Padilla.
Piggy-backing on the popularity of the Department of Tourism's slogan "It's More Fun in the Philippines", the promo blitz will begin this February in a bid to attract local tourists to the municipality’s tourism destinations such as the Pag-asa beach and the Calalanay Island.
It will also launch an “international surfing competition” this year as a major come-on under the program.
All this was revealed by Padilla at a meeting with the officers of the Jose Panganiban  High National High school Alumni Association (JPNHSAA) and LaPIMa (Laking PIM Ako) last Friday in Makati City.
The mayor was in Metro Manila on official business which gave him a chance to meet the two group’s officers.
The beach in Pag-asa is now undergoing a major facelift in time for the summer vacation when locals usually flock to this place for a swim.
This included among others the improvement of the public toilet facilities and beach cottages.
Calalanay Island, which continuously draws scuba divers and snorkelers from around the province and other places would be the centerpiece of the promo.
The resort island is known for its powdery sand and crystar-clear water which is ideal for snorkeling and scuba diving
Padilla said that he will try to speed up the cementing of the roads at Pag-asa to make it more convenient for visitor to come to the place.
Last summer, Pag-asa beach attracted many Mambulaoans who are based overseas and elsewhere in the Philippines.
