Lapima donates to Mambulao skills training center

Big boost … The skills training program at Roy Padilla Sr Training Institute in Larap, Jose Panganiban, Cam Norte has received a big boost with a donation of a welding equipment and materials. The item came from the LaPIMa (Laking PIM Ako), an association of families who benefited from the former iron mines which was operated by the Philippine Iron Mines (PIM) until the 1970s. The donation was turned over to the staff of the institute recently. The training facility is an initiative of Mayor Ricarte Padilla as part of his program to develop employable skills for the community’s out-of-school youths and jobless Mambulaoans. Posing in front of the welding equipment are Erning Bellen, Malou Napa Belaro, Ed Evangelista, an unidentified boy and Samuel Tatom, LaPIMa secretary, who facilitated the donation. – Photo courtesy of LaPIMa
